Fonds consists of the records of the Canadian Art Club, including minutes of the organization’s meetings, constitution and by-laws, membership lists, photographs of artworks, documents of incorporation (1909) and ultimate dissolution (1930s) and club financial records in the form of ledgers and a collection of bills and receipts. Materials related to club exhibitions and dinners are supplemented by an extensive collection of clippings from reviews in newspapers of the day. Correspondence forms a significant portion of the papers, especially that to and from Edmund Morris, secretary of the club for several years. Papers related to the founding of the Art Museum of Toronto and the Central School of Industrial Art and Design are also included. Fonds is comprised of the following series: 1. Minutebook 2. Collection consists of correspondence between Avis Lang Rosenberg and Jack Chambers over a three-year period, slides created for the proposed book, transcriptions of taped interviews, contents of a notebook, poetry and prose written by Chambers, research notes, Lang’s writings on Chambers, exhibition catalogues and a private press publication containing illustrations by Chambers. Much of the material is present in photocopied form. File titles were assigned by Avis Lang, except where square brackets are used. The collection is arranged in a single series.

The fonds consists of correspondence with art dealers, artists and public art institutions, invoices, shipping and customs forms and other documents relating to their involvement in the international art market in the mid-20th century. Carbon copies of letters written by the Zacks and letters written to them are included. The fonds also contains the administrative files kept by the Zacks: insurance lists, index cards for art and books, photographs and catalogues. The fonds includes the records of the Zacks’ involvement as board members in a variety of organizations relating to the arts, including agendas, memos, minutes of meetings, and travel arrangements. Correspondence files document the Zacks’ involvement in the State of Israel, through its cultural institutions, and communication with prominent citizens. Mrs. Zacks’ papers created after her husband’s death relate to her honourary degree, the Order of Canada, board activities and social involvement. The fonds consists chiefly of correspondence (professional and personal); diaries and address books, inventories; financial records; photographs of artworks and family; and miscellaneous papers.

The fonds consists first, of papers of Frances Loring: correspondence (largely genealogical), lists of her works, a collection of short stories, articles, newspaper clippings, information about Loring’s father, Frank C. Loring, and two etching plates. Second, papers and other materials of Florence Wyle: poems, diaries, journals, articles, biographical information (including birth certificates, passport), lists (including prices and exhibitions) of her works, and various etching plates. The third part of the fonds comprises a collection of photographs of works by both artists. Lastly, the 1987 accrual to the fonds contains further biographical documentation and correspondence (relating to artworks, to the Loring and Wyle Trust Fund, to personal matters including finances, and to their estate) and an additional collection of photographs. Fonds consists of correspondence with art dealers, experts and auction houses; photographs of artworks; hand-painted illustrations of ceramics; inventories of art and ceramics collections; descriptive catalogues of the art collection; research notes on the provenance of works of art; art-related publications; and wills pertaining to the development, maintenance and dispersal of the Van Horne family collections of paintings and ceramics over the course of three generations in Montreal from late 19th to the end of the 20th century. The collection consists of 45 architectural drawings in ink and wash, comprising elevations and details of major Italian and German churches, probably drawn as student projects.

Fonds consists of a household inventory of antique furniture, china, art, coins, military artifacts, geological and natural history specimens, rare books and family documents owned by Robert William Geary and family of Niagara Falls, Ontario. The inventory was commenced by Geary on January 24, 1913 and annotated by him until 1933.

Fonds consists of a notebook commenced by Anna Belle Wing Kindlund in 1895, in which she recorded information on works of art and architectural monuments (chiefly European), with thumbnail-sized albumen prints of many of the items and occasional ink sketches. The notebook has alphabetical index tabs, and its entries are alphabetical according to city. The inscription on the frontispiece reads “Anna Belle Wing – B.S. ‘95”. The fonds is arranged in a single series.

The collection consists of research material gathered by Judith Rodger in the course of her work on the catalogue for the Art Gallery of Ontario exhibition Greg Curnoe: Life and Stuff. Collection includes audio recordings of Curnoe, published articles, photographs, ephemera, and eulogies for Curnoe.
