Collection consists of audio recordings of interviews with individuals who were active in the Toronto visual art community during Robert Markle’s lifetime, art historians, and friends and family of Robert Markle. Collection also includes two notebooks containing transcriptions and notes. Interviews were created and used in the process of researching Blazing Figures: A Life of Robert Markle. Collection consists of posters designed by Will Munro for events organized by him at various venues in downtown Toronto. Posters employ a variety of media and processes, including silkscreen and photocopies. Some of these posters were featured in Will Munro: Total Eclipse, July 31 – September 26, 2010, part of the Toronto Now series of exhibitions at the AGO. Silk-screening of many of the posters was carried out by Michael Comeau.

The fonds consists of copy prints of photographs taken by Chooutla (Carcross) Residential School teacher A. Richard King of his students and their school life in and around Carcross, Yukon. Subjects include Mr. King, Principal Lawson, Vice-Principal Walters, supervisors Miss Fennell, Miss Barstow and Beverly Bear, the school, tobogganing, and games and activities during Winter Carnival Days and Sports Day. Also included are images of the Matthew Watson General Store and tourists waiting to board the White Pass and Yukon Route (WP&YR) train at the Carcross station. Many of the students in the photographs are identified including Helen Malcolm, Dorothy Johnnie, Judy Hager, Vivian Smith, Velma Silas, Ben Johnson, Nancy Tizya, Virginia Simon and Ann Smith.

The fonds consists first, of papers of Frances Loring: correspondence (largely genealogical), lists of her works, a collection of short stories, articles, newspaper clippings, information about Loring’s father, Frank C. Loring, and two etching plates. Second, papers and other materials of Florence Wyle: poems, diaries, journals, articles, biographical information (including birth certificates, passport), lists (including prices and exhibitions) of her works, and various etching plates. The third part of the fonds comprises a collection of photographs of works by both artists. Lastly, the 1987 accrual to the fonds contains further biographical documentation and correspondence (relating to artworks, to the Loring and Wyle Trust Fund, to personal matters including finances, and to their estate) and an additional collection of photographs. Fonds consists of records relating to the life and work of the artist and author Charles William Jefferys. It includes the artist’s correspondence, notebooks, research materials and manuscripts of his written work. Also included in this fonds are the research materials compiled by Robert Stacey, the artist’s grandson, about all aspects of the life and work of Jefferys, including information on all Jefferys’ writings and art, articles and reviews published by and about Jefferys, as well as information about the artist’s personal life, professional activities and travels. Stacey also conducted research on the Jefferys family history.
