The collection consists of 45 architectural drawings in ink and wash, comprising elevations and details of major Italian and German churches, probably drawn as student projects.

Fonds consists of drawings, watercolours and designs of A. H. Howard produced in Toronto between 1880 and 1914, especially in the sketchbooks in which Howard drew Ontario landscapes and towns, flowers, trees, human figures, factory interiors and other subjects. Similar drawings and watercolours are contained in two albums and a portfolio. Also included are examples of his decorative and calligraphic work from illuminated presentation addresses, certificates, bookplates and other materials.

The collection consists of 107 photographs in a binder. Information about the photographs is hand-printed on the reverse. The photographers have not been identified. The subjects illustrated a number of “lifestyle” stories of local Burlington interest: community service organizations, awards, independent business owners, and cultural activities.

There is also considerable material pertaining to Knox Presbyterian Church including annual reports, financial statements and account books, quit claims, mortgage, deeds etc., lists of subscribers to the building fund, membership list, and magazines. Items with very early dates were acquired by George Blair in course of his professional life. There is one wooden plaque, presented to “Arts & Letters Club” on the occasion of the Incorporation of the City of Burlington, January 1, 1974.
