      History

      The Burlington Historical Society was founded in October 1960 and is an affiliated member of the Ontario Historical Society, the Archvies Association of Ontario and Knowledge Ontario/Our Ontario.

      Our Archives consist of photographs and documents relating to Burlington's past, carefully conserved and maintained. These records are available to researchers and the general public who are seeking information on local history. The Society always welcomes donations of Burlington-related materials to add to our collection.

      Finding aids, guides and publications

      The Society publishes books and other materials related to Burlington's history as well as a monthly newsletter, the Gazette. Other projects are undertaken from time to time such as presentations to other groups and walking tours of historic parts of Burlington. The Society also provides plaques for Burlington buildings that are more than 100 years old.
